This was the view down Church Street in Colne almost 40 years ago. This picture was taken in June 1985 and you can clearly see the town hall clock tower. On the right is Shackleton Hall, one of the town's many impressive buildings. On the left the gable end carries a sign for the King's Head. This pub would be come a weatherspoon's in 2008 and be renamed the QWallace Hartley after the Colne-born
