Residents in Clayton-le-Moors were looking forward to the opening of a new amenity for thw town when this photo was taken in 1969. It shows the almost complete Civic Centre building on Pickup Street. It would become home to a number of organisations and sports clubs and still stands today. In 2021 it weas tranferred to Hyndburn Council's lesiure trust for use as a sports and community hub 468397
