SOME of our older readers may have visited this popular business. JR Taylor at Whiteheads (formerly Whiteheads and owned by the Whitehead family) was featured in the paper in September, 1992. Whiteheads of Deansgate was established in 1859 and was still run by the same family in 1992. The family took over the top fashion store Musgraves of Kendal in 1986, and in 1989 the two merged with JR Taylor
