Description
This is an interesting photo from our history. The banks of the Bury to Manchester canal burst its banks at Little Lever in 1936. This spectacular breach led to the canal's eventual closure. The canal ran for 15 miles and had 17 locks and connected to the River Irwell. 451192193-newport BNE_04/11/2023_41_undefined Breachnewbanks
