This photo from the 1930s gives us a great view along Bury Road in Breightmet. The number 9 bus to Bolton is heading towards us while a seriously overloaded wagon heads in the opposite direction. The car bnehind l;ooks as though it was keeping its distance, just in case. On the left there looks to be a pub set back from the road.
