When television stars visited town it was a huge event. I was swept off my feet by the huge crowd, when I photographed Simon Dee in St Matthews Street in March 1969. He was in town to open a new Tesco supermarket. He was then at the height of his fame on BBC television with his Saturday evening chat show Dee time. The crowd was so big it stopped the traffic as he arrived. Were you there?
