EADT Nostalgia SPS 5868 The British sugar beet harvest begins in September and can extend well into February. During harvest the roads around the sugar beet factory in Sproughton Road Ipswich were busy with lorries loaded with the crop. This picture was taken in the factory laboratory The Ipswich beet factory, which was built around 1930, is now closed. EADT 4 07 05
