Ernie Broom, 85, was chairman of HEART the Howard estate residents association for many years until ill health forced him to stand down last week. He has also stood down as Battle of Britain Wings Appeal officer for the local RAFA. Ernie was awarded a British Empire Medal in 2015 for services to the community. Picture: Sarah Lucy Brown
