Durham, late 1960sMILLBURNGATE BRIDGE opened on April 3, 1967, taking the new A690, which cut a path across the base of Durham's peninsula, over the River Wear. Both this picture and today's front cover picture were taken very shortly afterwards.The Milneburn is a stream that is apparently now in a culvert beneath North Road, entering the Wear to the north of Framwellgate Bridge.The Millburngate
