An idea by Whitehaven school pupil Kerslie Williams to raise money in memory of teacher Lois Tointon who ran the Maths club at school raised £100. The idea was to create christmas crackers which he designed ,made and sold with help from other pupils at £1 a time. Some of the pupils with Kerslie went to West Cumberland hospita's Dalegarth ward to hand over the money to Palliative Care
