We have only recently enjoyed seeing youngsters turning up at school dressed as their favourite characters for World Book Day. But, as this photo from 1975 shows, dressing up as a literary character is nothing new. These youngsters were all members of the Bolton Children's Book Group who attended a fancy dress party at the lecture hall at Bolton Central Library 488474315-newport BNE_18/03/2024_
