Description
One of the many twists and turns in the tale of state education in the Ilkley area, the opening of Addingham Middle School in 1979. Pictured are the first intake of Ilkley pupils at the £400,000 school, built on land off Back Beck Lane. The school took in 160 children when it opened, around half of them from Ilkley, who were ferried to and from Addingham every day by bus. For Wharfedale. 5
