We're not sure but we think that this photo of the Nab Gate Hotel at Harwood was taken shortly before the building was demolished around 1958 and a new pub built on the site. It would continue a tradition of having an inn on the site for more than 400 years. The pub's unusual name may have derived from a toll gate for an old turnpike road at the top of the hill (nab).
