Description
The Cockerbeck Valley Park now known as the Denes opened in stages between 1923 and 1925. The first addition was a paddling pool, containing 1ft of water, which opened on March 20, 1926, in the easternmost dene at the foot of Drury Street. It was soon followed by a sandpit.
