The Dairy Shorthorn judging was underway at Dumfries in 1954 under the watchful eye of judge, Mr E Jackson, of Penrith. He picked Mr J Holmes female champ, Thrimby Autumn Rose 15th, as the supreme on the day. Ref: 1584
